2012 FILM SUBMISSIONS

Please use the form below (one per entry) to submit the details of film and moving image works. The deadline for entries is June 1st 2012.

We accept submissions of short films, feature films and moving image works (digital and 16/35mm). We usually prefer work of a more experimental nature, though narrative films that show uniqueness in form and structure, or strong relevance to our themes, are most welcome. Please bear in mind the overall festival theme which aims to explore mankind’s relationship to the natural world – this year we are particularly interested in ideas relating to traversing the wild – how we move through the land. We’re also interested in the ‘alchemy’ of film as well, whatever that turns out to be. Please only submit your work if it relates to these themes in some meaningful way.

After completing the form you will see a confirmation message and you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not get these messages, then your entry has not been received and you should submit again or contact us.

In order to fill out this form, you will need the following information to hand:
- Exact running time of the work.
- Some basic technical details about aspect ratio and available screening formats.
- Short description/synopsis (30 – 100 words).
- Short biography of Director (30 – 100 words).
- Production credits.
- A digital still image of the work.

Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival Submission Form

Please use this form to submit your film details. You can submit as many films as you like.

Please use hh:mm:ss
Please list production credits - Producer, DoP, Actors, Music, Sound etc... if appropriate
Please select as many as you have available. We can screen all the above. Please note that while we accept standard def DVDs for preview purposes, we do not usually use DVDs for actual screenings. We prefer to receive higher quality digital video files to be edited into our screening programme. We are especially delighted to screen film prints, though shipping costs can sometimes deter us from doing so if a print is not available in the UK.
Please tell us where we would get the print from - ie the name and address of the distributor/print holder and in which country. Please also tell us if the print is available free or whether screening fees would need to be paid. We can usually cover the costs of shipping for a limited number of film prints.
Please supply as much information as possible about the original format of the work, on frame rate (ie. 24 fps, 30 fps, 50 fps, 60 fps etc..), resolution (ie. 1920 x 1280, 1280 x 720, 768 x 576, 720 x 480 etc..), video container (ie. file extension - Quicktime mov, AVI etc.) and video codec (ie. which compressor used - H264, AppleProRes etc.). If you do not know how to answer this, leave it blank, but we may have to ask for more details later.
Please list any previous or forthcoming public screenings of this work including festivals and gallery installations.
If Alchemy shows this film, would it be a premiere screening in either Scotland, United Kingdom, Europe or the World? It is not a requirement.
Please give a short synopsis or description of at least 30 words but no more than 100 words. Please try to relate this to the overall festival themes - how does your film explore our relationship to the natural world? Or to the idea of alchemy and transformation in the moving image? Or to landscape?
Please provide a short biography of the Director. At least 30 words but no more than 100 words.

Please upload a still image from the submitted work, suitable for use on our website or printed publicity material should your film be accepted.
Please provide a link to an online preview (ie. Vimeo or equivalent), plus any password needed for access.
